40th Anniversary Alumni Spotlight: Grace Conti ’04; Affirmative Action Guru Advocates for Life/Work Balance for Employees
Grace Conti ’04 graduated with a B.A. in Labor and Policy Studies from the Long Island Center.
She is known for her expertise in affirmative action rules and regulations and is often referred to as the “affirmative action guru” by her clients at Portnoy, Messinger, Pearl & Associates, the oldest labor relations consulting firm representing management on Long Island, where she is executive vice president for Human Resources. She was named executive vice president for PMP in 2001 and has been instrumental in the company’s growth from its Long Island roots to conducting business in more than 45 states.
Conti has achieved an exceptional record of successful Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) audits. She also regularly holds affirmative action training workshops throughout the country and conducts mock OFCCP audits for clients.
Passionate about the importance within the business community of understanding, supporting and sponsoring life/work balance for their employees, she is an active member of the National Association of Mothers’ Center Corporate Committee and directly involved with its annual Life/Work Conference
Conti is cochair of the Long Island Industry Liaison Group, a local chapter of a national organization of federal contractors.
