Canadian Border Commuter Student Admissions

Canadian border commuter students must meet the college admissions requirements and meet additional admission documentation requirements:

• demonstration of sufficient English proficiency to study at Empire State University
• evaluation of non-U.S. educational transcripts
• proof of financial ability to pay for tuition
• proof of health insurance coverage.

Health Insurance

The State University of New York requires that any student who has entered the United States for study or research have health insurance. Each international student must pay a mandatory fee for health insurance.

Check the fee for the current year with the International Student Services Coordinator. An estimated fee has been included in the minimum estimated expenses.
