Graduate Nondegree Study
Taking Courses at the Master's Level
Nondegree students may select from the elective courses offered in the graduate nonmatriculated registration information that is prepared by the School for Graduate Studies each term (fall, spring and summer).
Nonmatriculated students are limited to no more than three graduate courses of study and must provide an official transcript verifying completion of a bachelor's degree. More details about nonmatriculated study are available.
Graduate Nondegree Study Request:
- To be considered for nonmatriculated study, you need to complete and return Graduate Application Nondegree Students (PDF 103kB).
NOTE: You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read PDF documents. If Acrobat Reader is not installed on your computer, you can download it for free from Adobe.

- Please have an official transcript verifying completion of a bachelor's degree sent to the School for Graduate Studies, Empire State College, 111 West Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
- After we review your request and your transcript, you will be notified by the School for Graduate Studies whether or not you are accepted. If you are eligible for nonmatriculated study, you will receive an email from the School for Graduate Studies containing registration login and password information.
